Bookshelf Scavenger Hunt – Part Thirteen
Find a diary (true or false) – Dracula by Bram Stoker
I was looking trough my bookshelves and I passed this one many times before realizing it is written in the form of a diary. I got it for a school assignment. I’m ashamed to say I’m not sure have I read it trough or not. I do remember reading it, but it was over a decade ago so I’m not really sure.
This is one of the books I want to read again sometime in the future. And for someone who has affinity for vampire literature I just might look up some really cool hardcover edition for my shelf.
Here are few that I’m considering:
Bookshelf Scavenger Hunt – Part Twelve
Find a book with gold lettering – The Gospel of Loki by – Joanne M. Harris
This is one of last years acquisitions. When I heard about it I was very interested in reading it. But when I saw it I wanted to own it.
I think the cover is pretty and I’m glad I managed to capture the gold lettering on the picture in such a good way (great success for my little tablet!)
This is one of few exemptions where I actually approve of British edition design.
I can’t wait to read this book!
Bookshelf Scavenger Hunt – Part Eleven
Find a book with illustrations in it – Draconomicon The Book of Dragons (Dungeons and Dragons Guide)
Here are examples of illustrations in the book:
This is an awesome book about dragons. Who doesn’t like dragons?
Bookshelf Scavenger Hunt – Part Ten
Find a book with only words on it – Bite (Short stories collection) by Various
Another in line of my vampire short stories collection. I was very keen on getting my hands on this one. But since it took me a while to actually find it I never really got around to reading it trough.
I love finding these short story collections and find new authors I might like.
Bookshelf Scavenger Hunt – Part Nine
Find a book with a male protagonist – Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Harry Potter book 7) by J.K. Rowling
As a student I worked at a midnight sale on the first day this book came out. As a special bonus for buying the book on the midnight sale I could choose to buy it with 10% off OR pick to get a t-shirt with this picture on it. I choose a t-shirt.
I will be adding the picture of it at a later date….it is currently in queue for washing….
I also noticed that this is one of the more common books in challenges. Since I decided to dig trough my bookshelves a bit to find some books I haven paid attention to in a while I decided on this one. There were few others but I will find a reason to make a post on them as well some other time 🙂
Bookshelf Scavenger Hunt – Part Eight
Find a book that has an animal in it – The Tale of Despereaux by Kate DiCamillo
I misread this one but it still works. I thought it said find a book with animal on the cover. This is a Croatian edition of The Tale of Despereaux (Croatian title Priča o mišu zvanom Despero). This is a movie jacket for the book.
This is what the cover looks like.
I bought it as a present for my boyfriend since he loved the animated movie version so much.
For a while he even had this picture as an avi on few social networks.
Bookshelf Scavenger Hunt – Part Seven
Find a book with a boy on the cover – Wallflower (Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge) by Tomoko Hayakawa
This is one manga series I used to read long time ago with a friend. The friendship ended and I ended up with volumes 11-17.
Bookshelf Scavenger Hunt – Part Six
Find a book with a girl on the cover – Kitchen Princess by Natsumi Ando
This manga series is a perfect example of shoujo genre. I loved it right at away. It is a story about a girl whose greatest wish is to become pastry chef. The coolest thing about it is that every volume has a food recipe included. Here is an example:
This manga series has 10 volumes and one novel edition. I got first five volumes and I’m currently in search for the rest.
Bookshelf Scavenger Hunt – Part Five
Find the oldest book on your shelf – Predaja klasične starine
The oldest book on my shelf is from 1964. I inherited it from my family and it is quite worn. It was published in Belgrade (which is the capital of Serbia). Basically those are classical tales on Greek and Roman myths. I liked reading them when I was younger and I still like looking out books on mythology.
Bookshelf Scavenger Hunt – Part Four
Find something on your bookshelf that’s not a book – Hobbit memorabilia
This is a memento I got from Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies movie premiere. On top there is a stand for a figurine. I have three different ones I snatched from my boyfriend and his sister:
Kili the Dwarf
As usual sorry for the photo quality!
