Getting back into the reading experience for the summer was not as smooth as I made it appear to be. There were some sandy dunes on the way and now it is time to make a monthly reading review for July!

1. How many books you’ve read last month? Are you happy with the amount you read?

I’ve read in 6 books in total. One of them was a manga novel and I’m happy with the positive feeling I get when I’m getting to read more.

2. What was the best of all the books you’ve read in July? Any scenes or characters that made a lasting impression?

Lisa Kleypas and some favorite characters have made an impact on me to read more this summer and remember how much I enjoy reading. Devil in Winter is the book I ready usually once per year and is one of the rare books I am willing to read over and over again.

3. Were there any not so good books for you last month? What made it hard or not enjoyable to read?

After finally getting to read some of the books that I own for years on I’ve gotten to some books that made me curious about the theme or a genre. This month some of those did not as enjoyable as I hoped they would be. Sigvald by Darius Hinks did not rise to my expectations and it left me with no better understanding of Warhammer Fantasy world.

4. How did the books you were reading last month fit in your reading plans if you had any?

I started on a reading challenge for the summer – you can check out all about it HERE. I’m picking most of my books according to that challenge and so far I’m down 4 books out of fifteen. I expect to read more books from the challenge in August.

5. Any updates on the series you are reading or are you starting any new series?

Devil’s Daughter by Lisa Kleypas was the last book that continues to portray some of my favorite characters from a few series the author writes in continuation. I like the updates and will check out the books that have those characters in it. Also I’m glad I can remove The Demon Prince of Momochi House from the shelf as it did not thrill me enough to continue the series.

6. Would you like to recommend any books or authors you’ve been reading this last month?

I love going back to Rick Riordan and his books just provide that warm fuzzy feeling for me with just enough humor. If you have the chance try some of his books!
