Finished reading:
Ally Hughes Has Sex Sometimes by Jules Moulin ★★★★★
Expectation:
Lately I’ve made a habit of adding some new arrivals to the bookstores on my reading list. This title was one of those spur of the moment picks. I wanted something light and funny. I needed the funny!
Summary:
Lets start with the title of this book: the word sometimes here means every decade or so. This book has a few sex scenes but they are incredibly steamy and the romance part is dangerously heart melting for any woman in her thirties.
The main plot revolves around a woman who gets to have sex with a ten years younger man. It makes a case for people who lead very conventional and also very unhappy lives and the fear to give happiness a chance when it comes in a slightly unconventional package. I must elaborate here that by conventional I mean traditional gender and age differences that most of us are taught to keep up with. I must point out that the main heroine of this book is strongly immersed in this traditional view. At one point I found it frightening and self abusive how she thought about the whole thing.
I like the way this topic of older woman and younger man was explained. This story also has certain fairytale quality and the edition I had had some Sleeping Beauty references for promotional purposes.
The moral of the story is delightful and it comes in a funny package of a book:
Don’t let the fear and the stereotypes stand between you and happiness!
Conclusion:
I loved this book and how it made me feel. It made me laugh and left me with a happy feeling and a little bit more belief in dreams and
SPOILER ALERT!
happy endings 🙂
P.S. The sex scenes were really awesome!
